Introduction

Perhaps one of the most popular uses for a camcorder is shooting family events - in particular, weddings. If  you have a video editor of any kind you can turn that wedding shoot into a very professional movie that  will win applause and plaudits all round.  In fact, many turn this side of their hobby into a profitable exercise (I did so myself, and got more enquiries than I wanted to handle).

The tips given in this section are based on the combined experience of a number of videographers.  A word of warning though ... I do not claim to be a pro wedding video creator,   and some of what follows may well be regarded by the 'pros' as a load of rubbish. However, I have seen what some of the so-called 'pros' create (for an unbelievable amount of money), and would quite happily put one of my wedding videos up against those any day. I have seen grown men with tears in their eyes watching my wedding videos ... but that could be because they really are that bad!

The big thing to remember about Wedding Videos is that ‘retakes’ are virtually impossible - if you miss the shot, it has gone for ever.

This can make the whole process extremely daunting - and is why careful planning from the outset is very important.  Plan for the worst, hope for the best....
